Great package deal!, January 2, 2012

This review is from: Nikon D5100 16.2 MP Digital SLR Camera & 18-55mm G VR DX AF-S Zoom Lens with 55-200mm Lens + 16GB Card + Backpack + (2) Filters + Cleaning & Accessory Kit (Electronics)

This was my first digital SLR and I did alot of research before buying it. I really like the short range lens that it comes with, as well as most of the other items. The description of the second lens is a big unclear but after i got it i found out that the second lens, up to 200mm, is NOT a vibration-reduction lens, which you really need at that distance. Just so future buyers might know...i looked online at Best Buy and matched up the prices...i think with the VR-200mm lens the price increases about the same there and on Amazon...but here you are getting a few more things as part of the package deal. just something to consider.

This review is aimed at people who are new to photography, as I am in the same boat. There are much more thorough reviews on Amazon for people who are already serious photographers.

General Impression:
Wonderful camera - gives you control of parameters (such as f/stop, ISO, shutter speed) when you want to play with them or get creative and will auto-select them when you just want to take pictures. This was important to me as I am still learning to adjust them to my liking but don't want to miss out on pictures because I'm fumbling around with buttons.

Construction/Feel:
After going to Best Buy to physically hold the Canon T3i and Nikon d5100, I immediately decided on the Nikon. It felt much better in my hands and just looked better in general. Both were fairly light which is nice but also means they are made from quite a bit of plastic - not a problem though as this keeps the price down and I don't drop things.

Controls:

I did some comparative shopping from Cameta Camera, best buy and other well known photography retailers before I perchased my Nikokn D5100. Cameta Camera was hands down the most affordable seller there was out there. Not only were their Nikon cameras price lower that other retailers out there but most of their selections were priced lower than any other. I will definitely keep Cameta as my go to spot for future perchases for my Nikon D5100!!

This review is from: Neewer 0.45x 52mm Wide Angle Lens with Macro for for Nikon D90, D300, D300s, D3, D3x, D5000, D3100, D3000, D80, D100, D200, D40, D40x, D50, D60, D70, D700, D7000, 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX (Electronics)

This product does what it is supposed to - creat a wide angle @ 0.45x - it's a really low price but performs well. If you have a lens like 18mm with correct focus, it could creat a small vignette around the edges. What I liked was, that the lens had a macro in it too, so that's a really great addition!

I would recommend this product to entry-level photographers!

This review is from: Canon EOS 60D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) + Tripod, Cleaning Set (Electronics)

I was using a Nikon D90 and decided to change to Canon... the 60D was my choice.

I've been playing with this camera since 2 months ago and I just love it! I can only compare it with my old Nikon 90 because its the only DLSR I had in the past...

I know that to compare these two cameras is not fair, but this is my personal situation.

The build of the camera is great, being able to move the screen is also a great option. The quality of the pictures is awesome, the adjusts you can make... everything is great, I just love this camera.

Before buying this camera I saw lots of video reviews, and people sometimes were very hard with this camera saying that the shutter was noisy, or things like that... BUT if you come from a Nikon D90 or lower, you will love this camera.

I dont have a compaint so far... everything works perfect, I even had a photoshoot where we had a little rain.. and the weather seal worked perfect...

I'm not a... Read more

It may not be considered a "professional" camera, but you'd never know!
The body is solid and feels good in your hands.
I combined it with a fixed 50mm lens, and the picture quality is outstanding.
It focuses fast, and I love having little to no shutter lag like you get with your average point-and-shoot camera.
So far I have found nothing about it that I don't like!

HELLO. I JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU THAT I AM AWARE THAT THE BOX SAYS THAT IS A KIT CANON 60D PLUS CANON LENS EF-18-135 IS, WHEN I BUY A CAMERA WITHOUT THE LENS THE BOX SAYS "BODY ONLY" BUT IN YOUR CASE YOU TAKE OUT THAT LENS FROM THE ORIGINAL BOX, WHAT DO U DO WITH THAT??? WHY DONT YOU SELL IT WITH THE LENS? I DONT THINK THAT IS GOOD, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO BE SINCERE AND SELL BODY ONLY BOXES, YOU ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE SELLING SEPARATELY AND ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, SO... WHAT CAN YOU DO IN MY CASE?? BECAUSE I WANT THE LENS THAT ORIGINALLY WAS INSIDE THE BOX!
